Us billionaire Elon Musk's Tesla has announced plans to manufacture and sell a powerwall (battery storage system) in India after it expressed its desire to build electric cars in India. For this, Tesla has submitted a proposal to the government requesting incentives or subsidies to build a manufacturing plant.

Reuters quoted two unnamed sources familiar with the matter as saying.

Over the past few weeks, Tesla executives have been in talks with the Modi government about setting up an electric vehicle factory. The price of the Tesla car made in India is expected to be $ 24,000 or about Rs 20 lakh. However, neither the Indian government nor Tesla has announced anything final in this regard.

Tesla is keen to bring its state-of-the-art powerwall technology to India. This home energy storage system with lithium-ion batteries is designed in such a way that energy can be stored from solar panels or grid during the day and can provide uninterrupted power during load shedding. Or it can serve as backup power in an emergency. In a word, the powerwall system will get rid of power outages.
